Honda S800 Alternator rebuild
This page is for visual reference on how to rebuild a 1967 Honda S800 MK1 alternator. it shows in detail how I stripped, modified and rebuilt 2 alternators. I used modern Bosch diodes that are slightly larger in diameter, so I had to machine the original holes to the new 12,7mm size. Replaced the brushes and bearings and also shimmed out the axle, because I discovered that all oem alternators have axial play that causes the top bearing to ream out the existing hole and causes it to rotate, which makes the nosepiece unuseable after time.
